Ch Ch Ch Ch Changes!
I'm changing up some major stuff in the Conv Pack, so I thought I'd bring you all up to speed:
MAPS
Three maps will be cut. Not to worry however, they will appear as-is in a Conversion Pack Bonus... umm... Pack. This is just so that I can devote my attention to the most popular maps:
1-Space Geonosis: It's got bugs.... the randomly crashing kind. Plus, it's not anywhere near the scale of what I wanted it to be. The community can do a much better one.
2-Geonosis Arena: Let's face it, Schizo made this map what it should be. When I released the first beta long ago I didn't think it would turn out well. All attempts to update what Schizo did resulted in lots of crashes. This map will be reverted back to the way Schizo had it.
3-Coruscant City: For a couple of reasons. First, as much as I think the models are impressive, this is one of Rends' earlier maps, and the textures aren't that impressive. It just doesn't look as good as Streets. Secondly, we've already got two of Rends' other maps in there -- Coruscant Streets, and Bounty Hunters: Tibanna Gas Mines (which became Ord Ibanna).
If Rends gives permission, the entire 'cut map' pack will have it's source released so that you all can fix any bugs present plus update the maps as you see fit. As far as being official (meaning I'd fix the bugs) parts of the pack; they won't be. It's just a thank-you to the community. These maps will still utilize Conv Pack assets as well to be sure that you get all the yummy new content.
KIT FISTO
Kit is one of those things that's hard for me to choose a side on. On the one side I could see lots of cool things happening with him. On the other side I gave my word that I would not release the source, and I want to stick to that. That being said, what I propose is this: I will create a small side with just Kit and a sith version of a Nuatolan (or however you spell Kit's race). You will be able to use it for your maps, but will be unable to edit anything. Instructions on how-to will be provided. Kit will be available in his regular form under rep_hero_fisto, as well as rep_hero_fisto_lite, which will utilize a different animation set (freeing up some animation memory for other heroes). The as-yet unnamed sith will probably be a Maul clone with different powers. Sound good?
CONTENT
Hero CTF is planned for 1.95, which will just be a combination of Hero Assault and 1-Flag, nothing more. New vehicles will be added if I have time, as well as additional gametypes to maps as I have time. No requests will be taken, simply because I can't promise anything.
For those wondering, I'm hoping to get the Dwarf Spider and Rebel Walker in there (which will be known as the ATLT: All-Terrain Light Walker).
No specifics on what maps will have Hero CTF, but if I put it in a map with 6 modes already one will probably get cut (6 is the max before the menu starts looking wierd(.
SPACE
I'm still planning on getting Assault and 1-Flag for Space Coruscant and Space Mustafar. I really don't know if it'll happen, but I'm hoping so.
More as it develops.

Re: Ch Ch Ch Ch Changes!
Sound good? Sounds great!!! I can't wait-just the fact that Kit Fisto is being "released" is good enough for me-I don't need to change anything about him. Hero CTF is going to be great, keep up the good work!Teancum wrote:I'm changing up some major stuff in the Conv Pack, so I thought I'd bring you all up to speed:

Wait, is Coruscant Streets being cut? I think you meant Coruscant City (or whatever the other Coruscant is called). Or is it really Coruscant Streets being cut?Teancum wrote:Three maps will be cut... 3-Coruscant Streets
I'm okay with Geonosis Arena being cut because I can download Schizo's version, so if my opinion about that counts for anything, there it is.
Does what you are saying about Kit Fisto mean that he will not be in the pack on maps such as Alderaan?
Hero Capture the Flag sounds interesting, I look forward to seeing it. I'm sorry if this is premature, but do you have an idea of which maps will have it? Ones that already have 1 flag CTF maybe?

I completely agree with the cuts you're making. It will help improve the professionalism of the pack.
As for the Kit Fistor, Luminara, and Shaak Ti (Assajj Ventress) animation/combo releases, as much as I would love to have them, it seems that if you release them, then you are stepping outside of the requirements you agreed to when you acquired them for the pack.
I'm not telling you what to do but it should be very carefully considered.

It took me a long time to find it, but Schizo's map can be found at this page.ARC_Trooper_phi658 wrote:a little off-topic, where can I download Schizo's geonosis arena?

Perhaps it would be helpful when you release the updated version of the conversion pack to provide links to all the maps that were previously included so that users can download them if they want to. For the time being:
Geonosis Arena
Courscant City
Manaan: Murky Depths

Tean! Tean! Your just taking up addon folders and making it harder to join MP games!
Well, I guess one bonus pack couldn't hurt.
Someone should really make a past releases map pack. Do you even need to have map sources to integrate them into one addon folder, or can you just create the new addme and mission.lvl?
