Can't connect to friend's server vice versa

Hey guys, I have a slight problem connecting to my friends server, and he's got the same problem connecting to mine. What happens is, it times out while trying to connect. But we never had this problem before, it only started after my friend replaced his router. Any ideas on why this might be happening?
This is on Star Wars: Battlefront 2 btw. I have no issue connecting to other servers, neither does he.

Have you tried port forwarding?

Except, he's not necessarily wrong.
If he's replaced his router, he might need to re-open those ports in order to host the server. I can't explain the not being able to connect on his part, though.
You're right though, Marth, that it might NOT be the exact solution we're looking for, but it's worth a shot?
@agentsmith38: SWBF2 uses ports 3558, 3658, and 4658 for server and client management.

Thanks for that link Marth. I don't really know much about port-forwarding or LAN gaming or anything like that, but I have had similar issues with AOE II which I resolved by port-forwarding. Just thought it might be a possibility.
Besides, I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with his router, since the problem did start AFTER he got a new router....

Yeah, port forwarding isn't
always the solution, but it was for me for SWBF2 (though not for Halo Custom Edition
).
