I am writing an arrangement of the orchestrated version of the theme from "The Terminator" and the main "beat" of it has the same articulation over and over and over and I don't want to have to write in the articulation over and over and over, so where is the Simile tool?!

I'm not sure if there actually is a tool that can apply that type of marking for the program's playback capabilities, but if the piece is only intended for live players, all you need to do is type in the marking in a text box.

That's dumb. And it's really just for fun and it's a Trombone Trio.

Yeah, Finale can be incredibly frustrating sometimes. I almost prefer composing by hand, but the program's saving grace is that computer notation is much easier to read and edit than hand-written music.

I'm pretty sure you can use a USB piano keyboard and "type" the notes in Finale instead of choosing the note type/position on the measure manually. I've only used Finale 2006, and that was a while back, so I'm not too certain about this.

You can, but that's only good for pitch and rhythm values - not articulation.

I was referring to the frustrations you mentioned with Finale. One of the frustrations I had with it was how slow it would take to just get all your notes in. Hence it would be faster to use the keyboard. I personally wouldn't mind going back and adding in all the articulation notations individually.
