I have a Nidec BETA V TA350DC fan that I pulled out of my Dell server and I want to use it as a case fan in my computer. The problem is the connector:
It needs to be a standard 3-pin connector. Is there any sort of adapter I could buy or could I change it manually?
What kind of fan plug is this?

If that has two black wires (thats what the picture looks like), go ahead and cut the connector off, strip the ends, wind the two black ones together, and attach it to a 3-pin connector (cut off the connector from something else, and leave some wire to attach it to).
Or you can buy a female molex (4 pin) power connector, don't worry about winding the black wires together, solder the wires to the pins, put them in the connector and plug it into the power supply. I'm pretty sure this would work, but if I'm wrong, someone tell me please.

EDIT:
Ohhh, wait, I see what you mean. I was actually thinking of doing the first thing you said before I reread your post. So what would I do with the control (blue) wire, just leave it there?

I don't know, I thought that they were the same color and did the same thing.

Re: What kind of fan plug is this?
Alright, I got the fan working, but only when it's plugged into my SYSFAN2 slot, so I can only have one of my two case fans running. Basically, the SYSFAN1 slot doesn't seem to work. I tried connecting my other case fan (not the one I just got working) into the SYSFAN1 slot and it didn't work, so it must be a problem with the motherboard or something. As for the BIOS, there isn't an option for disabling any of the fans, or at least none that I know of.
My motherboard is the MSI G31TM-P21.
EDIT:
You know what? Nevermind, I'm not going to even bother. That server fan is just so loud. It's not worth it.
