I have heard from some friends that their videos got silenced because they used copyrighted music in their youtube videos. At the same time, I have seen friends use copyrighted music and it's all good. I think Maveritchell has used the star wars soundtracks in his videos before, but I'm still wondering what to do.
Sometimes I see the "buy this at amazon" thing at the bottom, is that the youtube audio swap thing? I looked it up and it implies that audio swap replaces your audio, but I still want the other sounds in my video to not be erased. Yet some of the videos I've seen have both the copyrighted music, the amazon thing (meaning it's ok to use the music?), and the sound effects as well.
I'm just wondering how to use the star wars music without getting silenced.

If you use a piece of the Star Wars soundtrack in your videos, what'll happen is it'll be flagged as using copyrighted material and you'll get a short ad overlay on the beginning of the video. You can see this on a handful of my videos. Your video will be unviewable in Germany, which for whatever reason blocks any videos flagged like this. Other than that you won't have any problem.

o... germany blocks them? My Battle Arena videos were actually more popular in Germany than anywhere else according to youtube insights, so this may be an issue...
Thanks for the info. I might see if I can play some star wars music on piano good enough to pass by. If not... I dunno.

If you're really concerned, I would simply use in-game audio. Often, the extra SFX are enough to throw off the bots that determine this kind of thing.
