Rundll32 [Solved]

After a major fiasco with a fake antivirus program known as Windows Antispyware, pretty much nothing in my control panel works. Every time I try to open something, it says it can't find a specific application, yet when I searched for it, I found it clear as day. One of the biggest problems is an application called Rundll32, which allows me to add or remove programs. And whenever I try to open it manually, I get that stupid "open with" window. What can I do to make it function properly?

When you say Rundll32, is this a DLL file? I only ask this because most DLLs end in dll intead of 32.

Nope. It's an EXE.

Mmm... Well in that case I'm afraid there is not much I can do. Although you could peruse this.

I also might recomend a Uniblue scan which can sometimes detect errors in files like that. I would also try typing in the words "Rundll32 Download" because many sites do have files like that available for download. But be careful, I would hate for you to get a virus.

Another thing to make sure of is that the program that is giving the error is rundLL the virus one is rundII which on native system font for windows looks like rundll. No link sorry but I did have occasion to look it up once and that is why I remember it now. Best way to check is to copy the name (do a rename without actually renaming it) and CTL-C to copy the name then past it into any text program and change the font so you can tell the difference between capital I and lowercase l

I know I'm bumping the topic, but it happened again. This time whenever I try to open a program I get a message saying that "The file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel." Whenever I try to access the Folder Options control panel, I get the same message.
