Far Cry 2 Problem: No Visuals/Nothing Appears On The Screen

Hi, I just got Far Cry 2 and for some reason, when I load it up, nothing appears on the screen, all there is is audio and no visuals at all, just audio. . .please help, my friend said it was a great game and I really want to try it. Thanks!

What are your system specs and operating system?

An Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20GHz
An X800 Series Video Card with 1.50 RAM
Tri-Boot 1 hard-drive tri-split operating systems/Windows Vista, Windows XP and Linux. (Installing on Vista as my XP is slowing down and needs maintenance)
Vista: Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
This computer can run Crysis so I can't see why it wouldn't run Far Cry2. . .a friend said I should update my drivers is this a good idea??

How? Do I simply go online and Google "Driver Update"??
Or do I have to have it update for a specific driver type. . .
EDIT: Never mind I Googled it.

You should try to install Patch 1.03.
If this wont help go to Ubisoft HP and press Support.
You are now able to download from there a SAN-Tool.Which checks if all your Drivers are up-to-date.Theres also a FAQ with known Problemns and how to fix.

www.windowsupdate.com will automate the process.

Well I updated my drivers (I think) I just did the scan for updates and got two and the problem is still occurring. . .Is it not managing to access the video files or what?? This is really annoying.

The last time I had this problem it was because my graphics card settings were forcing antialiasing that the game didn't support. Check the card settings to see if it's forcing any settings.

Thats out of the FAQ:
Black Screen after starting (Vista)

Its in German but you can see at the Screen what to do.
Something like:
Right click Farcry2.exe go to Properties
Then press Compatibility
Look at the Option -Visual Designs- deactivated and mark it.
Accept and restart FC2.
If its not helping much ,go and register at Ubisoft.com and get a Maintanance Ticket.

I can remember that i have had also Problems with Farcry2.
I had some Issues with my Activation Key.
You activated your Copy successful?
