CD/DVD-RAM drive trouble

Post by lucasfart »

i have had this CD/DVD drive for almost a year now and it has worked perfectly for me. then, out of the blue, the whole thing just stopped working. i can still open and close the drive but no cd's or dvds of any kind are being read. i have made sure that i have the latest firmware driver for my drive.
my computer info:
HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55N (dvd/cd drive)
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.8 GHz
512 MB of Ram
40Gb harddrive

i had made no changes to any of my computer/disc drive settings.

CD/DVD combos don't last long (that's what I've heard) what is the manufacturer? you can go to there website and see if they have a troubleshooting guide
