Audio Problems

Hello, I've been having an infuriating problem with my PC for as long as I can remember.
I try recording using Fraps, Xfire Video, ZeallSoft Super Screen Capture Pro, GameCam, and even HyperCam2, but no matter what I try and record, the audio is all messed up. Rough description, I have to turn my speakers up all the way when listening to the playback, and there's a load of static in there too.
I messed around in my Sounds and Audio Devices application for a while, made sure nothing was muted, everything at full volume, but I have nowhere else to turn to. Any ideas?

Are you recording through a microphone input?

I've tried a microphone and programs like Fraps that automatically record sound without needing a microphone, but the result stays the same.

What I'm saying is that your results are indicative of a computer with a built-in mic input being used as the default audio input in a recording program. Does any of that ring true?

My computer does not have a built-in mic, as far as I know.

Here's a video I took with my current sound problems; I maxed out the audio so you could hear it. Click Me

If that happens for every game, then it's just a problem with your default audio device (or whatever your video recording programs interpret it as). I can't tell you any more than just to "play around" with your audio settings for either your recording program or your PC itself.

My dad seems to think it's my sound driver. What do you suggest I do if that is the problem?

EDIT-
I just realized, I don't have an audio mixer! That could very well be the problem. I'll get one and see if it works.
