Anyways, Im wondering how to get my Wii so I can play my Animal Crossing: City Folk game online. I dont have WiFi, but I have a phonejack behind my tv that the computers...box thingy with the lights..router or modem or w/e its called is plugged into here. I bring that up because I went to GameSpot asking how to get online access, and someone told me I had to buy a Wii LAN Adaptor and use it with my router to get online with the Wii.
Is this true? Is there another way to get online?

It's true. It's either wi-fi or buying the Ethernet adapter. It's like $20?

They stopped making the Wii LAN Adapter for reasons i cannot remember.
What I did for my Wii is I went to Wal-Mart and bought an inexpensive Wireless Router to hook up tomy Wired Modem. The whole setup cost $20 (same as the LAN Adapter) and now I can use it for other wireless stuff, such as my printer or my DS, instead of just having internet access for my Wii.
Same price, twice the options.

Wait...how would that work with a wired modem when my Wii is in my room and my modem is in the family room and someone is always wanting to use the computer when Im not on it...

I just use my ordinary Hawking Wireless Adapter for my Wii. Come to think of it, I use it for everything I do that requires the Internet

Are you saying its a device with just one cord that plugs into the back of a game system and then "BAM!"?

The wirless router connects to the wired modem and would sit in your family room with your computer there. However, that Wireless router is acting as a hub for different wireless equipment. The Wii connects to the router via wireless waves and the router connects to the internet for the Wii because the router is plugged in to your wired modem.

Yeah, and then your house is wireless, so you can use it with any wireless appliance (like a printer or another computer with wireless capabilities)

Yeah, your gonna need one more cable, too, but it's the same type of cable that hooks up your modem to your processor right now.
Essentially, the cable that hooks up your modem to your computer will now hook up the modem to the router. Then another cable will hook up the router to the comupter.
All in all, the set up looks like this:

BEFORE ROUTER:
[modem] -internetcable- [computer]

AFTER ROUTER:
[modem] -internetcable- [router] -internetcable- [computer]

So I'd have to buy a second ethernet cable. With the setup above, Internet will still work on this PC, so all is good and a-o-k! Too bad my $^!&$^!*^^$*142 dad already went out drinking so he wont take me to the store today.
