i am having trouble downloading thigs on my dads mac laptop which is the only internet computer in the house. not only is the internet running at less than 1kbps but now whenever the download hits 839kb it stops downloading. anyone got any ideas??
it is a mac os x.

I would recommend calling your Internet Service Provider and asking them.

Yeah, that's most likely not a problem with the computer itself. How is it connected to the internet? Wireless? Wired?

And if your ISP can't help you, you may want to try to see if there are any updates you can install (Apple logo->Software Update). I'm thinking this is something on your ISP's end though.

ok i'll see what i can do. we do have an area with really bad phone and internet reception, and we have had this isp for about 4 years and this has never happened before.
