Guy keeps hacking my Xfire

Post by Commander_Fett »

Okay, you remember that guy who was going around as a no name on SWBF2 multiplayer and hacking xfires? Well, we found out who it was, and he promised not to do it again. However, somebody's been hacking my account, and asking chatting with people on my friends list and changing my status. Changing my password didn't help. Does anybody have any idea on how to fix this?

So, xfire includes commands that let other people change your status? That seems kind of wrong. But, is there any way to fix this, or no? It's kinda annoying when my friends ask me why I was saying such stupiud stuff on xfire while the real me was AFK.

Log off when you're not really around.

Change the password weekly or even daily to deter him, or create a new account. XFire wasn't really built to be secure. If XFire has an abuse report system on their website, you may also report him. They can probably track by IP.

Teancum has a good point on changing passwords. I personally make it a habit to change my password on everything (E-Mail, X-Fire ect.) every 3 weeks. So far, is has served me well. . .
