Major ZeroEditor Problem

I have posted this topic once about 2 weeks ago, but I got no responses, so I'm trying again (If I'm breaking a rule, let me know, but I'm pretty sure I can't bump my empty topic, as that would be a double post, If need be, delete this).
I can't run ZE.
I open it up, and my comp freezes solid. I can't Alt+f4 out of it, or Alt+ctrl+dlt out of it either. I tried to reinstall it, but that didn't fix the problem. Every other part of the modtools works perfectly fine, and yes, it did work at one point. No matter what map I run it on, it always freezes the WHOLE computer. I can create a blank, untouched map, open up ZE and it will freeze. I've tried 3Danalyze, but that yielded no result.
I run Vista ultimate on a HP Pavilion Media Center m8277c PC, if that matters at all, and another thing that may be relevant to the problem, the msh viewer also does the same thing. No other programs on my computer do this though.
Does anyone know how i can fix this?

The MSH Viewer does the same? Makes me think it's something to do with the meshes, then....but you said re-installing didn't help. Are you completely sure no residual files were left over from anything? Maybe some install settings or something was screwed up....
And where did you get your copy of Modtools? I'd reccommend trying to re-download from several different sources, to avoid problems on their end of the line.

Yeah I just say reinstall. Well first make sure the BF2Modtools and ZE are in their proper places. But I don't about SWBFViewer...try running
that with 3DAnalyze.

Wait a few minutes once it freezes. If it is a big map and you don't have very much ram, this will happen but it will work a few minutes later (let it sit a while). Also, adding object collision (the check box) REALLY slows it down, so uncheck it. If it doesn't work, then its not your computer. If it does work, then check the box and wait, as stated above.

He stated that he tried it with a blank map. Even with the collision geo box unchecked, it ought to be fairly quick. And he knows how to use ZE, so I doubt he'd make a beginner's mistake like this. Once or twice, maybe. Repeatedly? Doubtful.

Well, I don't think mshes are the problem, Google Sketchup opens them just fine, and the msh viewer will usually work for about 2 or 3 model views. As for the Modtools, i got em from filefront, then got the reinstall from fileplanet, so thats 2 different sources.

How's you file hierarchy set up? That is, are all of your files in the default folders?

I beleive THIS is your problem:
Vista ultimate
I think I saw somewhere on this site that ZE doesn't run on vista... but there is a program that you can use to get it to work... I forget what its called though...

I have Windows Vista and ZE works fine. I think you need a compatibility pack.

Do you have your firewall up while running it?
