Pc overheat issue. *sigh*

I've been using a made-by-me comp for a while now, and didn't realize until just the other day how unhealthy the poor thing is.

Specs via xfire:

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2200 @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 2048MB RAM
Hard Drive: 500 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS

Currently it holds a balmy 30 C when it's idling with one side off in cool weather, and a toasty 50 C once I try to play CoD4. :faint:
That's bad. I'm looking for a simple, reliable, preferably cheap and quiet way to cool it down a notch. I've looked into liquid cooling and decided it wasn't worth the cost or maintenance, and my best option right now is to get a full-tower case and one of these babies. Does anyone have a better idea? I'd really appreciate it.

Do you have any case ventilation? You'd be surprised what kind of heat you can dissipate just by getting some air flowing through your case.

Get a Artic freezer pro 7 http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalog/p ... anguage=en

One of the best coolers around and cheap you will not be dissapointed.
Don't waste your money on a big expensive case there are some good cheaper alternatives as for fans these are good HIPER case fans and too should not be to expensive.Have one blowing in and one blowing out,In from the front and out of the back also a side fan for your GPU & CPU

Youe CPU is a good one and should not generate that much heat.Is your GPU a old or the new G9 series?

I actually found a solution for this. A bigger case + http://www.zalman.co.kr/DataFile/produc ... 4_b(0).jpg <-- that should keep it cool.

EDIT: So I guess this can be locked. Thanks!

You found a Solution for your overheating Issue.
If you play Cod4 in max Settings with your Pc (2,2 GHz + 8880GTS) he needs to work hard. The GFX isnt your Problem.
If you would buy a better CPU more than 4GHz in Dual, that would help much more than buying a new Case.

But whats your Problem with 50C ?
Yougot a Windows Message or something?
Thats a -more or less - good Temperature, nothing to worry about. If it would went over 60 C then i would try to find another Case/Better Fan.
btw your Pentium Dual CPU can handle Temperatues between up 63-68 C.
