Your favorite Firefox Addons

Post by Taivyx »

So I use lots, and I'm looking for more, so I'm just wondering what your favorite Firefox Addons are. :)
I've got a few favorites myself.

All-in-One Sidebar definitely tops the list. Even if you've never used a sidebar before, I'd strongly urge you to try it.

BBCodeXtra is really helpful for forums, it adds BBCode functions to the right-click.
For Example:
Test
Test
Test
hello there wrote:Test
  • Test
  • Test
  1. Test
  2. Test
Test

Test

That was done in about 20 seconds using BBCodeXtra

Foxytunes is really quite cool. It embeds a music player inside the Firefox bottom bar, and plays music from any music player you have.
The only downside is that you need to have that music player open in the first place.
Another cool feature is that, on forums, there's a small icon where you can embed a Signatune, basically a music track as a signature.
(remember, Gametoast doesn't allow signatures)

Greasemonkey
This is a really cool addon that was developed by a Google employee that lets you change the way many popular websites look using bits of Javascript.

ONE thing though.
Please, Please do not turn this into a Firefox vs Internet Explorer debate.
If you want to do that, make a thread yourself and don't hijack mine.

About time someone made this thread. :)

Ubiquity: Basically an all-in-one easy to use command-line-thingy. Allows you to do everything, but faster. There's a thread on it in this forum.

Adblock Plus: Allows you to block Java, Flash, and images that bug you. Even has lists of common ads you can subscribe to that it will block automatically.

DownloadStatusBar: A highly customizable, unobtrusive place to keep track of downloads.

Yes, I know I'm a thief and a crook but Adblock Plus. The only other one that I use is the StumbleUpon addon. Besides those, nothin' else.

FireGestures - Enables you to use mouse gestures to perform many functions in Firefox very quickly.

IE Tab - In my opinion, a must have. With the press of a button, you can switch your tab's rendering engine from Firefox to IE. Good for those times when pages in Firefox just don't load correctly.

FastDial - Like Speed Dial in Opera, but better, and highly customizable.

Fast Video Download - Download videos from video hosting sites like youtube, etc.

Randomly enough, I actually run 'Fox 100% vanilla. Normally I like to tweak stuff but it's never applied to the web. I don't even use the development addons for my work. Maybe I'll check it out.
