Google custom search engines

Post by tsurugi13 »

http://www.google.com/coop/cse/

Allows you to make a search engine tailored exactly to your needs.

EXAMPLE: http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=00396 ... r-5qvcqjui

This one only searches GT. Very easy to do, good for lots of stuff.

Yep. You can even specify keywords, so if I wanted the engine to find SWBF2-related results only while searching the web, I'd just have to give a couple keywords like SWBF2, SWBFII, or Star Wars Battlefront 2.

That's cool but it doesn't return too many results, for example just type XSI or ODF and see how many results come back.

I use this method quite a bit to search Gametoast, for example:
weaponshareammo site:gametoast.com

The search feature here on Gametoast does work fairly well when it doesn't time me out, but one problem is that most topics/posts submitted before August 2007 will not show up in the results.
A way that i've found to bring those topics back into the search index is to re-submit those topics/posts by simply locating one then click Edit and make a small edit then Submit the reply.
I try to go through some of the more important topics whenever I get free time and re-submit them and I'd like to encourage everyone else here to do the same so we can all get maximum search results.

Yeah, that's what I usually do when I want to search a site.
