Display "blur"

About 2 months ago, I began noticing a left-to-right blur of all the images on my display.
It started out small, but now it's becoming problematic, due to some precision work I have to do.
I'm 99% sure it's the monitor, but.......
Can you guys look at this screenshot, and tell me if you can see a blur (even a teensy one) in
any place on the image?
The most pronounced blur on the current image would be between "Tutorials" and "(non-SWBF)"
If you guys can't see the blur, that means it's my monitor. If you can, that means it's probably my video card.

Well, the WHOLE picture is kinda blurry, but I don't see anything unordinarily blurry.

Alright, from the way it looks, my monitor seems to be overheating.
Cause when I turn it the monitor off, and leave it like that for 10 minutes plus, the blur starts to reduce.
It seems to be overheating quite fast though.

That's weird.
Off-Topic: Nice Firefox theme! It goes well with Royale Noir style.

Check out the inside of the comp. Some fan or cooling thing could be out of place. My friend had to give up a laptop becuase of broken cooling stuff (why he didn't replace the cooling stuff is beyond me). That laptop was slightly abused. I doubt yours is abused, but check into it.

I'd do that if it were the computer, but it seems to be the monitor that's doing it. And I'm kinda afraid of opening up my monitor.......

So you have a big monitor and not an LCD screen correct?

It's a 19-inch LCD Dell Ultrasharp Monitor.

Is it still under warranty? If so, getting Dell to replace it might be your best bet.

Don't think it's under warranty..... my mom never buys extended warranty, and I've had it for more than a year now.
This problem doesn't seem to happen at a consistent rate though, only sporadically.

Test this. when it starts to blur, take a fan if possible or a cool blowing breeze simulation device and place next to the monitor. Obivously point the breeze towards the monitor

My Dell LCD has 'burn-in'. Unchanging parts of the screen near the top get stuck displaying the same image and gives a weird see-through effect.
1-year isn't that bad. If you bought it on an American Express the warranty is doubled (other cards have that too). I'd look into your warranty length. You can check your monitor setting and make sure its set at the right refresh rate. I'm guessing you're going to be stuck with the blurriness and it'll come and go at random times. If its blurring because of heat issues, you're going to want the fan on before it starts to blur/overheat.

Hmmm, thanks for the advice guys!
I'll ask my mom if we have a small portable fan or something.
I'll look into the doubled warranty as well.
