Not the public folders! Well, I think they said people with existing accounts will retain their public folders. But still, this will hurt Dropbox in the long run. Everyone loved the public folder.

As long as I can still share links to my files, I don't really care. I'm sure there's a reason for the change and it would be interesting to know why, but the things I use Dropbox for will be largely unaffected by this.

Well the main issues lie in the fact it now takes longer to share links, and I don't even think we can share image url links using the new Get Link system (I've tried). Which means if you want to post an image on a forum, like on a mod's WIP topic or whatever, you have to upload to a different site.

It's a little more complex now, but doable.
1) Get Link of desired image image
2) Open link in new tab/window
3) Right click the "Download" button in the top right
4) Copy Link Address
5) Use that in the

It's likely they realized how much money they aren't making and paying for
Bandwidth so millions of kids can share stuff for free this is a result of a poor business plan I predict they are sold or go under within a year. Used to love it until I learned how to access everyone private files... Which still works lol

All the Dropbox links are still available because the specified restriction only affects new accounts (for now). As long as this is the case I don't care very much.

Well thanks for the info TW, that's something at least. One thing though, you can't view the image link itself, it just forces a download. *sighs* So you're forced to link to the Get Link crap.
Of course if all goes well, my existing Public folder will continue working just fine and I don't have to care much.
I still feel bad that new users will get jibbed though.

I use Photobucket to host images and never need to post such massive walls of text that I refer readers to an external link. Generally my thoughts are vacant enough to fit within GT's 60k characters-per-post,
