Gimp automatically goes to C:\windows\sytem32 anytime I save an image, and I accidently saved a few images there....when I search the location I can't find the images. Is having those there bad? At the moment it doesnt SEEM to be hurting anything.... On a side note how do I make gimps defualt save location something like my desktop? at least then I know then image is in a place it won't hurt anything/I can find easily.
OS is Vista (not 7.) I did not touch anything in the system 32 folder, I just want to know if it affects anything, and how to make gimp save ot the desktop.
Will images in System 32 affect anything?

File > Save as > Save to desired location. Works well enough for me.

You can make a shortcut in the gimp save as menu, just click add. It saves the folder location under places.
