Moving my "BF2_ModTools" folder

Post by Marth8880 »

Alright, so I need to move my "BF2_ModTools" folder to one of my several 230 GB hard drives I have laying around. I already have the hard drive installed in my computer and it works and everything and hardly has any data on it, but due to space issues, I need to move my "BF2_ModTools" folder from my overflowing 160 GB root drive. Moving the folder will not cause any problems with modding or anything, will it? I wouldn't think so, but you never know. :cpu:

I already tried searching for an answer to this question but had no luck. I think I remember modmaster13 wanting to do the same thing but I don't remember.

EDIT:

I found the thread, but the answer was not very clear.

The modtools readme says it must be in your C:\ or problems will arise. :? Maybe it will work in your ?:\ just as well. :?

It is and always has been located in my F:\ drive, which is the root drive. The modtools probably need to be located in the same drive in which Star Wars Battlefront 2 is installed. So I'll probably move both into one of my roomy 230 GB hard drives as well as adjust both programs' registry entries to point my operating system to the programs' new installation directories.

I am the same as D.U.C.K. except they are instead drive G: and C:, respectively. So:

No. And also:

No need; the mod tools will work regardless of the state of the registry.
Hidden/Spoiler:
Which is excellent for those who have their mod tools on an external hard drive (like me) because you can work on any computer you want as long as you have that external hard drive installed/plugged in.
