Well, the worst finally happened to me; Long story short, I did something as harmless as briefly unplugging my computer and hastily plugging it back in before the battery dies, and it froze. It was on, but I had a black screen. I had to turn it off by popping out the battery. I tried four times to get it running again, and when I did, I found myself in my own personal Hell. All my personal documents were gone, my files (Save for Steam and games) were wiped from existence, any changes I make to my computer are lost upon logging off, my administrator account fails to start up, and everything runs slower now. What could have caused this? Does anyone have any vague idea of a solution?
P.S.: There may be some typos, but my laptop has really weak, under-sensitive keys that won't work unless I hit with the force of a jackhammer. [/hyperbole]

restore a backup?
or at least i hope you had a backup...
But, when you unplug a battery from a computer, when its on, and frozen, it does baaad things to the harddrive.

Just as well, Microsoft office doesn't work. I'm dead.
