I couldn't figure out where to put this, so Off-topic was my best guess...
After having taken screenshots, I need to convert them into JPEG or somesuch format to post them, and I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of some app to allow me to do so. Thanks in advance.

Re: Picture conversion software
There's no such thing as picture converting software as far as I know. Plus, you can manually save it as a .MPEG file, but if you want to upload it here to the internet, just follow these steps.
1. Save somewhere on your computer (preferably a folder on the desktop).
2. Go to a picture uploading/hosting site, such as www.imageshack.com or www.photobucket.com or tinyurl, etc. etc.
3. Once uploaded, copy and paste the direct links of the pictures into your post. Put the image tags around the link.
4. If the pictures are super huge, put the hide tags around the picture as well.
5. Done.

Re: Picture conversion software
First off, .MPEG is a video format. .JPEG is the format you're thinking of.
Secondly, for a freeware converter/image editor, download GIMP and open your screenshots with it. Then, go to File > Save As and save them as something.jpg.
After this, go to an image hosting site (there are several- I personally like imgur and Photobucket, though that requires an account. Imageshack sucks) and upload the image. This should be self-explanatory. After that, there should be a direct link function- just copy-paste the link that they give you into [IMG] tags and then the image will show up on the forums.
Hope this answers your questions- I'll be happy to help if you have any more problems.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Personally, I recommend IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com)
