It's a fathers day present, but I can also use it.

So Im wondering, will this work with my dads laptop computer, and my Wii?

Don't use WEP. Ever. WEP is bad voodoo. I can crack a WEP key in under 10 minutes if I boot into a live distro of linux. All I'd have to do then is packet sniff on the network to get information such as credit cards, social security numbers, etc. Use WPA2-Personal with AES.Teancum wrote:The only thing you'll need to do is have your WEP key (like a password) available for the Wii. Other than that it's pretty easy, and YouTube has some great tutorials if you need em, like the one below:

Router security isn't quite as big of a deal as people make it out to be, but it does keep people from using up your bandwidth. For instance, my parents have a 6mb cable connection, but they use the internet maybe once a day, so I left their security unlocked so that when my nephews bring their laptops, PSPs and etc without having to find the WEP key every time.
