My mom decided to download IE8 while I was at school, without my permission, and now theres a few issues with it.
1. Whenever we open up the explorer, our Norton says we're at risk and we need to 'Fix Now' the problem and we have to manually turn on our phishing filter every time to make the red circle with an x in it go away even though the filter was on before.
2. On IE7 there were always icons next to web address that were previously entered in our address bar, and I found them useful because I could just look for the correct icon to go to a website instead of having to read through the addresses. NOW with IE8, little icons are no longer displayed next to all the web addresses.
3. I just found this out when I started typing this post; all the phpBB smilies that have white circles coming out of them are blurry.
Any solutions?

Re: IE8 questions
This. It should fix all those problems, and it's also a lot safer and faster and renders some pages much better than IE.theITfactor wrote:Firefox 3

@crazytieguy Excellent use of Windows 7's Aero Snap! A bit gimmicky, but cool looking and occasionally useful.
I personally like IE8 better than 7. But that's just me. Opera is great. Despite it's lack of market share it's very nice. Doesn't work with Facebook Chat though. Big downside. Firefox has a few big memory leaks, but they're constantly updating so hopefully they'll be solver. But besides that it's great.
I'm using Opera on Linux right now with Firefox thrown in for FB Chat. I'd rather be using IE8 in Windows 7 though.

I didn't know IE8 was out...
I have FireFox 3.03 and Google Chrome. Both are better than the IE's, anyway.

Re: IE8 questions
Mom switched back to IE7 since IE8 kept doing things to our phishing filter.

Re: IE8 questions
@MasterSaitek009: It's more useful than it seems. I normally use it at least a few times daily.
Firefox and Opera are better than any IE. If you want the fastest browsing you can get, use Opera, and if you want addons, use Firefox. (I would use Opera except I'm completely dependent on about 10 Firefox extensions.)
