Black lines a rainin' down my screen

Well, the title almost fully explains it. I have black horizontal lines moving down my screen when I play a game. This happened to a newly installed combat arms (which then ceased to work), and swbf2. Now the black lines don't show up in the safe mode of swbf2 or in halo:ce. Ive tried reinstalling swbf2, and it didn't help at all. Can anyone help?

This is just a slightly-educated guess, but it might have to do with directx. Your other game may have tried to install a different version of directx (like an older one) and screwed it up. Try installing the newest directx and see if that helps.

if yer a windows user, head over to run and search device manager. (easiest way to find it) once there click the + next to display adapters and whats listed below is your graphics driver. now for advice, if its an intel driver i strongly urge you to update it as those can have bugs very often (mine does). if its not intel i would look on their site and still see if you can update it. updating the driver almost always works for me when i get annoying graphics bugs.
EDIT: ack sorry, in Dv.Manager the monitor can be found if you click on monitors. as for graphics card theres no difference between a driver and card. (please correct me if im wrong)
