There's a bug in internet explorer from version 5 to the new beta for 8 that allows hackers to steal your passwords from sites that have that coding in it. I found it on Yahoo! http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/111811
I would recommend switching to Mozilla Firefox here
Or Googe Chrome here
I have both and use Mozilla Firefox all the time, and I'm sure anyone else here that uses either will tell you that they aren't spyware

Ouch that's gonna hurt. I haven't used IE in a while and mostly use Firefox or Google Chrome but I'm sure Microsoft will do all they can to fix this. Lets hope they fix it soon.

They're working on it but Microsoft doesn't seem to understand completely
Quoted from Yahoo!.Microsoft has stubbornly said it "cannot recommend people switch due to this one flaw."

Well, I don't think they want to risk people switching to other browsers.
I know it's probably not the most honest choice but I wouldn't really blame them, as that would reduce their users a lot.
Anyways, apparently they're releasing an emergency patch sometime soon.

In retrospect it looks like they were terrified.Yahoo wrote: Acting with record speed, Microsoft has issued a patch for the just-announced security flaw that impacts all recent versions of Internet Explorer, from version 5 to the latest betas of IE 8. The next security update had not been due from the company until January 13, making this a very rare occurrence.
