With the increased demand of this mod, I decided to release what I finished so far of it. This mod adds new commands to the fake console which will allow you to change the appearance of classes in-game.
Here is a video demonstration:

This is a nice little addon, and I really like that it works online - tested every skin choice and didn't crash!
Good job, but I still assume other players see default skins in their game files.
Anyway I do have an issue with this mod. It's not your fault, because what I will present is probably not expected.
I happen to be using a custom mission.lvl that replaces the retail mission.lvl and on every single map lua I have my own custom FC commands. If I try to combine this mod with my modded mission.lvl, only my custom options are shown. If I use the default mission.lvl your mod then works fine.
I can't say I expect you to fix this, but I hope Zerted might stroll along with some suggestions.
Again this is a cool piece of work.
Edit: I hope to see a bigger version with replacement skins for rebels, cis, and more empire... I really like the certain rebel assets with the orange visors.

Beautiful mod! I simply love it. It has everything, even snowtroopers for the Republic.
I have taken the liberty of testing it (as it says "Beta" in the title), and I have found some bugs:
Map tested in Mygeeto and Coruscant.

great job. Can't wait for updates

Found a couple bugs while using this:
-Switching to Galactic Marines often crashes game
-Sometimes switching from one side to another will only change some classes and leave others as the previous side
Also, have some suggestions for more skins you could add. I assume you're familiar with the Conversion Pack. There are four clone skins added in it, all of which can obviously be found in the normal SIDE folder. The skins consist of the 41st, 146th, 212th, and 327th legions. The 327th one's shoulder pad is complete, so it might save you some time. Not sure about if you'll need permissions or not but I'm sure Tean could answer that.

It never crashes for me, but I've found a cause:
When you change to another armor different from Phase II (I believe it doesn't matter if you change to Phase 1.5), like Galctic Marines, Phase I, or Snow Troopers Phase I, you can't change back. It'll only change the colors of the armor (at least for the GM)

Galactic Marine always crashes for me. Hm.

For some reason when I click on a class, it either doesn't work or it crashes. Help!

Did you copy paste every file from the zip into your GameData > DATA > _LVL_PC folder? The only thing I can think of is if you left out the files outside the Skin Changer folder.

I am aware of that. I don't think there is a fix.

Are you using a side mod? And which ones did you try?
SnakeEyesRaw wrote:Found a couple bugs while using this:

What maps have you tried the marines on?
SnakeEyesRaw wrote:-Sometimes switching from one side to another will only change some classes and leave others as the previous side
I am aware of this also. It seems changing a unit's playermodel doesn't work retroactively.

I don't want to load a new model for the standard clone armor so that, for instance, if you're using battlefront evolved, you'll be able to keep the evolved clone models. And the skins i'm using are much more accurate to the movies than the ones from the convo pack, and the assets for the 2.0 version weren't released anyway. I may switch to the stock pauldron model, however. As much as it pains me to do so.

so you were not supposed to put the classes in your side folder?

That's correct. You leave them in the folder they came in.

Yes, though this feature is a little buggy, and
there are some crash issues. Expect to see this more perfected in future releases.

I have tried the Galactic Marine on the stock Coruscant as well as Bespin: Cloud City from the Convo Pack.

New question: does it matter if I am using the patch's skins? Because I can change skins without any crashes, but some do not work always.

No, it doesn't matter as long as the textures are the same names.

I've noticed the Shadow Troopers don't have a skin for the normal Clone Trooper on the maps I've played. Just thought it was worth pointing out.
