Rakatan Mind Prison

Post by kinetosimpetus »

Rakatan Mind Prison

A simple map based on the Rakatan Mind Prison in KotOR.

Has TDM modes in CW and GCW, and Hero Assault in GCW.

Da link.

I was bored and had an idea for this simple map so I made it.

(If someone could take a screenshot or 2 please....)

Although it's a cool concept, all it looks like is the default setup with different textures, from the screenshots. :?

Basically, yes.

The cp's are uncapturable, and the spawnpoints are in a circle around the center of the map.

When i saw the title of the map and the maker, i was really excited to see how the map looked like maybe with custom props (since you do nice models) but i was very disapointed when i saw the screenshots, downloading anyway.

Well besides four small pillars and a bed, there's nothing there in a Mind* Prison. So to keep it accurate, it has to be empty and flat.

Haha, neat idea. It would be perfect if you could adjust the fog settings to hide the horizon line (either that or just make a giant white box to use in place of terrain and sky).

Ah, I forgot those. Ref pix?

Added 4 pillars. Fog settings significantly reducing the darkening near the horizon. And download is updated.

The map looks good but the gameplay must be a bit strange .
It would be great to set nearly-invisible walls (or blue-white walls, like the ground ),like a labyrinth,
with invisible stairs,to make the gameplay better .
I don't know if this would make the map less accurate with KotOR .
Anyway, nice concept. It's a bit like the training installation map.

i was wondering when someone would make this. i was planning on making a big white box that u get teleported to on one of my maps to simulate something like this but this is just as good.

flat map=really funny when you are in a sniper war

Yeah, that's why I made it. I also had the idea about teleporting players to boxes.

i thought up the boxes after i had made an alien room for my map and it wasn't textured and i was on the debugger and couldn't find the door and it ended up taking me 10 minutes to escape the "mind prison" of mine... it was only like 10 by 10 or something on xsi think of a 100x100 or 1000x1000 O_O

i also liked dagobah when you go outside of the map's trees and walk into the fog for long enough that you see no land. it reminded me of it so so much.

...forever alone...
