I actually liked the music and slow-motion footage a lot (they worked well together), but I didn't really notice anything that stood out as "new" other than the map.
If it made you think of Washington a little, Dreadnot, then Marth did a good job. It's based off of Pioneer Trails, a park a few thousand feet or so from his house in Washington.
As for cover, there isn't a large amount as it tries to stay faithful to the real location as much as possible. I haven't played the map myself in a long time, so I can't tell you how well the current version plays. Last time I played it however, the lack of cover wasn't as much of an issue as you'd think.
