Robots vs Scientists - A side mod for SWBF2
Some storyline:
At a secret facility, a group of scientists were experimenting with robotic artificial intelligences. When the robots became self aware, the scientists tried to scrap the project. The robots went rouge, and the firefight that ensued will make sure that the winner would never attempt such a project again.
Plan of action:
Initially, this mod will be released as a side mod. In a couple weeks, I plan on releasing a map to go with it. The map will probably have a campaign with it, to fit the storline outlined above.
More about the mod:
This side mod will feature all of the following:
-Custom player model(s) and re-skin(s)
-Custom weapon models
-Custom weapon firing and reload sounds
The side setup is as follows:
Assault class:
-Assault rifle
-Heavy pistol (revolver)
-Knife
-Fragmentation grenades
Support class:
-Shotgun
-Health and ammo packs
-Knife
-C4
Close quarters class:
-Sub Machine gun
-Light pistol
-Knife
-Fragmentation grenades
Recon class
-Sniper rifle
-Heavy pistol
-Knife
-C4
The maps that will be playable will be up to you guys to decide. Feel free to suggest maps that you would like to see this side mod on.

Some of the textures/models could use some more work. But hey, its a WIP after all. I'm completely finished the scientists except for grenade, c4, and knife models and the knife animation. The robot side has been started so as to have a little bit more to show. All in all, im roughly 60% done this side mod.
Now, I have one request. Earlier I posted in the all purpose request thread, wanting help with an un-announced project. Well, my project has now been announced, and I still am looking for someone to help me with this. Commander cody will be unable to work on the map. I need someone who I can work closely with to start the map, and help with asset creation and alpha testing. If your interested, add me on steam, zwyx12341, and send me a PM on GT.

I like what I see so far. Now I'm just curious, is that one unit derived from my old hazard-trooper skin? I'm not accusing or anything, I'm just surprised because I've never seen anyone use any part of the thing, and I'm slightly flattered.

If you're referring to the one thats in the "feel free to use my skin" topic, then yes, I got the idea from there. However, different parts are yellow in my version compared to your version. By no means am I trying to steal your idea, but you inspired me, thats all.

You worked really hard on this mod and I thought it was great but in my opinion I think you should add some variation between the units on both sides. Instead of them all looking the same. try changing the units up a bit to attract more people to this mod. For example, instead of having a scientist with a different gun for each unit, have a completely different model with a different gun. As for the Robots, I would not mind if you changed the color of blue and made where the eyes go a red color. The gameplay and balance are both very well done so I would just look into the variation of the sides.

Thanks for the feedback! I hadn't really thought of adding much variation to it. Now that you mention it, I can easily add variations. I could even make my own player models (the robots where a custom player model) and go from there. Currently, im working on HD-ifying existing assets, so brand new assets will be added in a later release. I dont have to change the performance/ODF values, but just the models. I will start a 3D animation and WIP thread once I get more HD models/textures done. Glad you thought it was well balanced and im glad you liked it!
