Tutorial: How to fix that Hud!

Post by Penguin »

Okay, after getting annoyed with a gun flying around my person i have looked around and did some testing and found out a way how to fix the hud issue.

In your weapons ODF add this line.
HUDTag = "hud"

This will get rid of the gun(or what ever flys around there) ^.^

Now, the only thing about this is that it won't add/move the gun to where it should be. this is just a fix to remove the gun until someone figures out how to move the gun to where its ment to be!

PS: make sure to credit me for this find! lol

EDIT: basicly, all its doing is looking for a msh called "hud" so it could be anything, aslong as it doesn't exist.

HUDTag = " " just replaces one msh with another, but when you put in a msh that doesn't exist it finds nothing to display so you don't end up seeing anything

See a topic started by MajinRevan. I can't remember what it's called, but it explains the other half of your problem. WHat you figured out it what he couldn't.

yes, i've read through that, for me, its like trying to figure out the meaning to the Life, universe and everything.

So this is just a really simple version to get RID of the model hanging around in the middle of the screen,

Also, this won't (it might, just a guess) work with PAN's answer, becouse the HUDtag just tells it what model to use instead of the weapon model.

SWEET!!

This just might work for my map!!

Now, all I need to do is find out how to add custom .wav sound to my map (I could do it in SWBF), and then my map is done. But, I also need the DC-15s Side Arm Blaster (with textures fixed) from Dragonum.
