I've searched around the forum but i did'nt find the tool used to create odf: It says: "Let’s create his ODF, which is blank for now." any clue wich tool it is?

***Important: If your text-editing application likes to insert curly quotes “” instead of straight quotes "", USE A DIFFERENT ONE. Curly quotes will break everything. We recommend Notepad (^.^) or Ultraedit. We de-recommend Microsoft Word and Wordpad.

So, now we’ve got a blank ODF and we want to create a Jedi from it.

so I would recommend Notepad . open notepad, save as whatever .odf. make sure text file is not selected, it should say all files. this is the same process for reqs luas and the like.

No prob, I replied to your PM but I'll also post it here in case there's anybody else wanting to know the same thing. It might be also worth editting the title of the thread to how do I make an odf (of something similar) so it's easier for others to find via the search, hope you don't mind. Ok now back to how you do it:

Yep you can use notepad. Here's how to do it:

Open notepad - you get the blank document.
Click "File" then "save As".

Ok at this point you'll notice that the filename defaultly says: *.txt
The "save as type" is defaultly: Text Documents (.txt)

OK now to save your new blank odf file you must change these to:
Filename: jdi_demojedi.odf or similar, but you must put ".odf" at the end.

Save as type: "All Files" this is important as other wise it'll still save it as a text file.

And thats it. You can do the same for req', and luas etc... Make sure that the Save as type is always "All Files" and the filename just needs the file extension as part of it's name. ie:
filename: jedi.req
jedi.odf

you get the idea

ok now when you first want to open an already made odf,req etc... then your comp might go "eh? what program you wanna use to open this huh?". Just select always use notepad and that'll do it, it wont bugger up anything by doing this. Most SWBF modding stuff is text based so it's best to use notepad, it's quick and easy once you get the hang of it.
