On using Gimp or another type of program if u say wanted to put writing on say a door or even a symbol . Can you just open the .tga in Gimp etc put text on the door-- re save it as a .tga and use in building your world while using the same associated .odfs and .msh or is this not possible or is there anything else you have to do?

Yes. It's the same as creating textures, except everyone uses Photoshop. Gimp can open and save tga files so it should work.

When You Save You Need To "Save As" and UNCHECK RLE COMPRESSION. This is about the 60 time ive said that on these forums. (Slight Hyperboli)
