Tuskens got me drunk and stole my .wld.

I just got around to tampering with the new tools yesterday. had a simple world prepared and was starting with sides.
Sides apparently aren't nearly as forgiving as they were with swbf1. Or maybe it's this cursed ring from India I'm wearing. Either way, I kept having problems. I had it all sorted out for units, I am just having trouble getting a hero to work for the empire. Then I got around to the other side. I was replacing Rebels with Tuskens. I got them to work ohhh yay that's all good and fine but for whatever unfathomable reason, there is no map. There is a black background(as seen in the demo when people were checking out the heroes) and no spawn points. I checked zeroeditor, it's all there. Saved fine, .wld is still in the right place. But when I run my game it's 'Toodleloo!' and the terrain calls in sick. So I can't spawn. Yarr.

Anyone else having a similar issue?

Fine then. Be that way. I'll just spend all night trying to make it better but making it worse. D':

are you mungeing it after you edit your map?

I should slap you for such a ridiculous question.

If i wasn't munging it, I wouldn't keep runing into problems.

I know how you feel Kyross, I had this problem for a while, but then it eventually took a turn for the worst and now i can't even load the map without crashing.

Aye, astute. It's gotten worse. before the mod world didn't load. But I thought I would try and get more units in. It won't even load now. I tried taking them out and undoing everything-doiing no better so far.

Hmm, well for me at that point i'd have to remake the level, since no matter what i'd remove it wouldn't effect the level. Just a thought, is the munge actually updating the map? I've been working on a level that crashes thats giving me an error with Geometry, when i add the geometry in, it gives me the same error. Could it be it just never updates the mod's folder and i'm testing the same map over an over? I suppose the question then is, how do you get the map to update?

Breakthrough! i think i've figured out how to fix it. Delete the old folder out of your addon folder, then remunge. If that doesn't work them mabye the debugger or the mungelog can help.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I unchecked everything except the common box, then set my sides to common.

But the thing is, i haven't even touched the map. it's all sides, and somehow that makes the map not come up and to this point the thing won't load.
Although I did clean and munge and it loaded more thna it did before.
Yeah, I'll have to restart. For the fifth time. :/

Well to check that your sides are working, compile the map etc, etc, then go into the _LVL_DATA (or something like that) from the main directory of the mod map, find your side.lvl and your sideshell.lvl and use them to replace a side in your SWBF II folder. If that does not work, the sides are screwed up, or the munge process is, read my tutorial if you are really stuck.

Take the default scripts and replace it with the ones you are currently using for the map. Delete your map from the game addon folder and remunge everything. It the map still isn't working, the problem is with your map. If the map works, you need to check out your real lua and make sure you setup the side correctly.

If you're going to restart, make sure you save often and backup up your files often. That way when something breaks, you know what it is that broke it, and what values where working for it before.
