I found it in my LVL_PC folder. Perhaps it is a hidden file?

Trans, if SWBF II is running fine when you've not found any file called "mission.lvl" in the "_LVL_PC" directory, then - As sh4d0w' said - it is either hidden or you've not checked this folder enough attentively...

This is really weird, I have searched for it...found nothing, I checked it off so hidden folders are viewable but it is still not there. I think I'll just give up and wait for the mod tools for mods.

Well, I found my mission.lvl in this directory: "Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\data\_lvl_pc"
There are the folders of each single map plus the .lvl files "common, core, shell, inshell, ingame", an editor file called "device" and a bat(?)-file called "vidmode" and this mission.lvl!
