Sorry im a noob modder. What do i add so AI units dont' get stuck. Is it planning or is it barriers? Or is it something else? I hate not knowing these simple things. Ugh.

Barriers block AI. You can filter them for specific vehicles as well. Planning is where you want AI units and vehicles to go.

sorry mazda i just looked in the docs when i realized that i read that somewhere. thx a lot anyway.

EDIT: oh yeah and also what about trenches and bunkers. i just use planning so they don't get stuck on them right?

You prob need both. See, when the AI is in combat, they ignore going for the command post and following paths, and focus on killing the enemy. Paths are only for when the AI is going for the command post or objective because the area is clear. Barriers, on the other hand, just tell them where NOT to go (useful to avoid bottomless pits, falling off platforms, vehicles running into tree trunks, units getting stuck behind a barricade, etc.). Big idea: planning tells them where to go, barriers tell them where NOT to go. Hope that helps.

yeah i get it. but theres still one prob that really im sure i know the answer to. i have trenches in my map (like Hoth does). If i put barriers around them then they won't EVER go in them and fight. so i am now working on putting planning in my map.
