Help with changing default space sky files
I can manipulate the .sky file just fine. The problem is that in the default space .sky file, there is nothing of importance in it. I can add dome ships and such, but I can't remove the default settings like the nebula and the planet because they aren't in there. I compared the file to the original .sky files of other maps and they are theoretically the same. It seems that I can't change anything but the dome ships. Is it possible that the default .sky file is actually in some location other than the BF2_ModTools\data_xxx\Worlds\xxx\world1 folder? I've already checked the F:\BF2_ModTools\data_xxx\Worlds\xxx\sky ...
RE: Help with changing default space sky files
Isn't there a folder in the BF2_ModTools folder labeled SpaceAssets or something like that?
Those in the \BF2_ModTools\data_xxx\Worlds\xxx\sky folder are shipped map .sky files. If you're talking about the assets folder with all of the shipped files, that would not include the default .sky file created for the data_xxx map.
EDIT
I assume I'm not the only one working on a space map. Has anyone else tried to edit the .sky files?
EDIT2
Interesting development. I replaced the .sky file with the BOC sky file. As expected, the planet and nebula didn't change, but the dome ships I added to the removed .sky file are still there! grrrr
