How do you Hex Edit?
Is it simply opening .lvl files in notepad and changing them or what?

umm leviathan "WebAttack.com" looks like it has no hex editors, and it looks like theres some possibly illegal software

I guess you've been influenced by the URL of that web-site... But no, it doesn't allow you to download hacked or cracked softwares...

I think if you delete some of the periods so the file size stays the same I think it should work. Im not sure as I cant get any of my modifications to work so... oh well.

I don't think so.. :-\
Those periods just appear in UltraEdit32 since it can't display the weird characters properly. Those periods, or squares for some people (and me), are most likely required. :'(
