Battlefront Awakens

Hey lads. I have been working on BF Awakens for about 3 months, mostly pre-production. It's going to be a big map+side pack with crazy game modes that haven't been done before.
Hidden/Spoiler:
Ever wanted to run inside a pilotable Falcon and being able to use the turrets/repair hardware?
Nuffin is ready for release yet, in half-a-year about half of the maps will be ready. Right now I am busy with recreating the map layout as close as possible to the movies without ruining the gameplay.
For last 3 weeks I have been busy working on Jakku Village Assault object layout, it's about 99% finished

As for models so far we have:
X-wing 90% (with operational auto-turret and cockpit interior on the way)

Mod's special features:
3D blaster effects, because 2D ones look flat first person
2D muzzle flashes, because 3D ones look lame
Lasers fly out from the barrels, not appear in front of them
Smart AI, it chooses targets to act like in the movie (in case with this map at one points stormies will deside to destroy the X-wing)
Mixed soundtrack, depends on combat situation and ingame events (oh boy, you do remember Kylo's Shuttle landing)
No content re-usage in final version, none of that year 2005 quality in our mod
Custom sound effects, for further authenticity
Fake Console command for graphics downgrade

So this post is for advertising that a massive Force Awakens mod is being created as well as to rally more people (you don't want it to take forever, do you? I sure don't)

Any thoughts, any ideas, any suggestions are welcome.

Currently changing Jakku layout drastically because of some new images of buildings obtained, and remaking all guns made so far to SUPER HD quality.

Next, I announce that mod will be released in different graphical packages compatible with each other on multiplayer:

ULTRA HD - 30k/8k, LOD 10k/4k
SUPER HD - 10k/4k, LOD 5k/2k
HD - 5k/2k, LOD 2.5k/1k
Enhanced - 2.5k/1k, LOD 1.25k/0.5k
Classic - 1.25k/0.5k, LOD 0.5k/0.128k
PSP 0.5k/0.128k, LOD 0.25k/0.064k
Changes will be not only regarding poly/texture but also special effects, materials and audio quality.

About staff rally - we got 3 more 3D artists (chadaface and 2 outside the forums), an FX artist (Eaol) and a GUI artist (Marth8880). Some really amazing stuff is being prepared right now. Involving 501st but tss.. it's a secret or might just fail
FX and maybe gun and character show-reel coming in a few weeks

It's been a long time, that there was someone working on such a big project with map, new 3d models,...

The models look very nice and detailed.

Heh, from that perspective TFA would be one of the least original. It was bound to be done by multiple people.

WIP Rules (Please Read!). This topic is fine where it is, as it is beyond the ideas stage but does not quite yet fulfill the WIP requirements.

Glad to see some modders trying to make a mod that resembles the new Star Wars movie. I would like to see a map where the main characters are in the club/cantina they are in facing off against either the stormtroopers, the other "locals" or maybe both. Though I have only been into modding for almost four years, I have not played any Cantina only map (meaning you spawn and fight in the cantina only) and it would be nice to see. Good luck with your project sir, hope this mod works in the end and hope others will release mods/maps in the near future related to the new movie.

You tease me. I've been trying to make a Cantina map for years. If ZE hadn't quit on me, it'd have been released publicly. I still want to revisit it one day.

I believe there was a cantina map made many years ago but the link has been broken for years now. I do not remember the map name but I think it was based on the Mos Eisley Cantina.

EDIT: I found the map but as I said, dead link, doubt anyone has it but it was called Cantina Club (even though it was not a cantina only map) and it looked interesting but you know good mods do not last forever.
