Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
^That looks much better. A trick I use (and some stock maps use) for dusk or nighttime settings is to set the bottom directional light to a dark gray/near-black color. This gives the illusion of shadows on the undersides of objects. Usually I do this to give a bit more depth to the lighting on units, but in your case I think it would look great on the rock formations. I'd say I normally set the RGB values or the light at somewhere between 50-50-50 and 115-115-115 depending on how the rest of the lighting is set up.

Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
Thanks Eggman, below are the RGB values I've tried using for the top and bottom ambient color. For the previous screenshot I used R 200 G 128 B 50. The bottom image seems a bit too dark though. I don't know if that's what you meant.Eggman wrote:^That looks much better. Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
Thanks. I plan on varying the textures, adding more objects, and some foilage. I didn't show it but I also have random skydomes working. I managed to somehow not get it in the pics, but sunlight filtering through the trees looks really good.

Looks nice, but could definitely use some more foliage, but you said you were adding that.

Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
Bad computer + xfire + other stuff running + water= no good
Does anyone know what could be removed from the water to reduce its cost? Water seems to be causing problems even though the map has less water then other maps like Kashyyyk.

Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
Get rid of as much water as possible. If you used a big "brush" to apply the water, you may have water under the terrain. Also, instead of a massive ocean, how about adding a tall densely foliated ring of islands around that don't allow much of a view past them, remove the water beyond them and just for aesthetics texture the ground with your water texture.sim-al2 wrote:Bad computer + xfire + other stuff running + water= no good

Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
I actually made sure to get as little water as possible under the ground but thanks for the ideas.

Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
Finally got this ingame properly...still have to adjust the scale a bit and get the gunner to rotate with it but meh. Last pic was just for fun, set the guns to Pilottype = "self" and MaxItems to 12.
