Truthfully I'd take it if you can. It can be really hard to get your foot in the door, and having industry experience makes a huge difference.Marth8880 wrote:Forgot if that's the right name for the thread, but whatevs.

Guru, Congratulations, have you decided on a name?
Nice to see some good news! I've got a PS3 and am playing TFU right now. (Imperial felucia atm) Plus somewhere to live, etc.

Congrats, Marth, Guru and ARC!
August and September I got an awesome new PC with top of the line equipment running Windows 7 (I refuse to download the virus called "Windows 10" and Windows 8 is for tablets. ), along with EA Battlefront and Battlefield 4 for it, and my mom got a new job.

My phone interview with Monolith is on Wednesday! I'M SO UNPREPARED LOL
*immediately runs off and plays/over-analyzes Shadow of Mordor*
If your reason(s) for not wanting to upgrade to Windows 10 is related to privacy concerns or compatibility with the mod tools, I can totally agree with and support that. If that's not the case, however, you're going to be much better off with Windows 10 - especially because Windows 7 doesn't support DirectX 12 (and likely never will). Personally, I absolutely love almost everything about Windows 10 and I've had zero regrets upgrading (and I LOVED Windows 7).

Congrats to your mom! Also hit me up on Origin (username is GT-Marth8880) so we can do some BF4! Heck, it'd be great if a bunch of us could squad up together at some point. (And don't forget to join the GT platoon haha)commanderawesome wrote:August and September I got an awesome new PC with top of the line equipment running Windows 7 (I refuse to download the virus called "Windows 10" and Windows 8 is for tablets. ), along with EA Battlefront and Battlefield 4 for it, and my mom got a new job.

Goodluck with the interview, I wouldn't be surprised if we see your name in the credits for the next gen battlefront, just remember, you are as awe inspiring to us, as they are to you!

Sounds like a plan. Though don't expect much out of me at this point.Marth8880 wrote: Also hit me up on Origin (username is GT-Marth8880) so we can do some BF4! Heck, it'd be great if a bunch of us could squad up together at some point. (And don't forget to join the GT platoon haha)
Those are my main concerns, yeah. As for DirectX 12, I may have to come up with a dual-boot system at some point, so I can use 10 for newer games and game development, 7 or XP for mods and other stuff.Marth8880 wrote:privacy concerns or compatibility with the mod tools, I can totally agree with and support that.

That's great, JimAng!
But seriously though yeah it's a gorgeous area, the mountain backdrop reminds me of Vancouver. Also, your friendly neighbor Washington says hello! (Yeah, that's right Idaho, I'm ignoring you. :u)

Congrats guru!
Well, it's been a bit more than a month, but I moved across the continent to San Diego and got a job as a game developer for a small company that makes high-end simulations. #Livinthedream

That's great, TW! I'm assuming it's a programming position of some sort? Also, which studio?
