Yes, the torrent fighters would probably be a lot easier for modelers to make.

V- wings are not the war-moddel jedi fighters, they were emperor palpatines personal escort fighter (you see them in ep. 3 when they are flying in between the imperial star destroyers, they were early Tie fighters.V-Wings
