how much have you paid for SWBFII
Hi,
just got an email from amazon with this offer:
http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0009PO ... em_1p_3_ti
I'm think this is even more than the game cost on release.
I'm sure the seller hopes that the consumer thinks that this is the new EA SWBF

£5 for the PC-DVD version from Morrisons, IIRC. This is, of course, going back a few years now.

Re: how much have you paid for SWBFII
honestly, I bought my current copy of BFII for $2.99 in the recent Steam Lunar Year sale. which is funny because i began to seriously consider buying one of those overpriced Xbox ones until i realized that my PC could probably run this game

I'd really like to know whether there is someone who pay 50 € for this old game or not.

Bought it on release day for retail price, then on a Steam sale years ago to not need a CD. Recently I bought the GoG version so there was no DRM at all.

I got the original 4 disc set (v1.0) in 2011 for $12 and a few months ago in Steam sales for $3
I got it for PS2 in 2009 for $4 at a used game/media store.

Re: how much have you paid for SWBFII
Less than for Battlefront EA, but it was already an old game when I got it for PC. I got it in 2010 as part of the fan favorites 1 collection for about 19.99. I've had the PS2 version since around 2005/6 and I negotiated a lower price, I don't remember what it was. And also don't forget about inflation, SWBF2 probably would have cost about the same as EA SWBF if it was made today.

I paid for full retail price when it came out. And bought it again for $5.99 during a steam sale.

Re: how much have you paid for SWBFII
I paid full retail price in 2005. I saved allowance money for a few months and shelled out $30 at EB Games (Canada's Gamestop). I have not bought the game again on Steam or GOG because I love the feeling of using the game from its original form. I have had BF2_1 in my drive for about 3 years now because I don't play any other retail-bought games. What a sad time we live in. I love the convenience of being able to buy and download a game at any time, but I hate that I don't have any physical proof of ownership. I miss the days when buying a new game meant preparing a place of honour on the games shelf.
Anyway yeah, I have the 4-CD set right next to me here and it was less expensive than that one on Amazon.

Re: how much have you paid for SWBFII
fully agree. a while ago i bought Assassin's Creed Unity on amazon, and it was cheaper to buy the DVD Version instead of the digital copy. So i have the DVD on my games shelf And no they did not put just the uplay installer on the DVD, there are 5 DVD to fully install the gamejedimoose32 wrote:[...], but I hate that I don't have any physical proof of ownership. Re: how much have you paid for SWBFII
I had two original copies, one of which was a birthday gift and one bought personally not long earlier. Some discs from both sets have stopped working, but I have a working 5-disc set that I believe mixes a disc or two from both. I've been wrong before about discs though. Point is, I've had my copies since 2005.
I also even had a PS2 copy around the same time, but no longer possess it. Would buy it again in a heartbeat just for the nostalgia -- I played it on PS2 first.

Re: how much have you paid for SWBFII
I think I got the Xbox version from either Target or Fred Meyer in 2006 for like $50 or something. Then, I got the PC (CD) version for $20 from Best Buy in Christmas 2007, and then the Steam version a month or two ago for $10.
