It was made by Pandemic Studios, in the same engine as SWBF.TheMastermindOfMaom wrote:Why? What did LOTR:Conquest do?
Granted, it was a bad game, but EA could still get sue-happy.

Oh.
Btw what game is that in your profile picture? The missile launcher looks like BF2's.

It's SWBF. The unit is the TFU Heavy Trooper part-ported to SWBF with adjustments.TheMastermindOfMaom wrote:Oh.

Looks cool. Haven't played SWBF in years.

Personally, I was never an avid book reader. The only time I read books was when I was assigned to read them.Noobasaurus wrote:What about the BOOKS?

Re: The MOD/MAP Idea thread
The Star Wars: Battlefront Uprising mod I was developing for Star Wars: Battlefront... I'm strongly considering doing a SWBFII version first - a true, intended version can be done there, and a 'lite' version could be done for SWBF later on.

Star wars IV era with weapons! After seeing the new movie and all the new weapons and creatures it just looked like a mod waiting to happen lol. It would be cool to have the Revolver Blaster Hand Pistol Thing as a weapon along with Fin, old Han solo/Chewbacca and especially the chrome trooper! TR-8R!!!

Multiple modders are already quietly working towards something like thisbooperdoo wrote:Star wars IV era with weapons! If you'd like a taste, the Coruscant: Modern Warefare map in Released Topics has an early version of the concept playable ingame -- including E7 Stormtroopers, a Chrome Trooper, and an old Han Solo.
I think the million dollar question is finding a logical name for such an era...

Re: The MOD/MAP Idea thread
I've taken to referring to it as "New Era Conflict" given it isn't actually full-blown war until the Starkiller is used.
Pick up the "Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens" book. Loads of neat ideas in there for vehicles and new units, including an AT-AT-sized heavy Scout Walker.

I refer to it using the name I gave to the Wookieepedia article for it: First Order-Resistance Conflict (which they still use).

Re: The MOD/MAP Idea thread
That's a good name. But does it fit into Battlefront II's instant action era menu? Map names which are too long will be cut by half.commanderawesome wrote:I refer to it using the name I gave to the Wookieepedia article for it: First Order-Resistance Conflict (which they still use).

Re: The MOD/MAP Idea thread
Can someone port the PS2 version of SWBF2's menu to PC?

Re: The MOD/MAP Idea thread
Isn't porting illegal unless it has changes to it?

Re: The MOD/MAP Idea thread
No it's illegal if the things you port are not published. Since SWBFII Assets are published it is no problem to port it. I already got some PS menu things while working on a modification (but it did not work for me. There was no way to make any selections)

Re: The MOD/MAP Idea thread
That'd be tough to do since we don't have the movie files that play in the background.Venator wrote:Can someone port the PS2 version of SWBF2's menu to PC?

Re: The MOD/MAP Idea thread
Various users have screwed around with having console menu on PC. The closest I ever got was a black startup screen that says Press Start, with only 1 back button which didn't work. Of course even with 2 or 3 types of game controllers start cannot be detected since it's not console game.

Re: The MOD/MAP Idea thread
Speaking of altering screens, I'm surprised nobody has tried to alter the unit selection screen. I'm not necessarily talking about the console carousel layout, but something that allows more than 9 units to display (IE, the left side displays only unit names with a box underneath the list with the weapons of the selected unit)

Re: The MOD/MAP Idea thread
In the script data_mod\common\scripts\ifs_pc_spawnselect.lua it references something called pcSpawnDisplay.h which is hard coded into the exe. The exe controls most of the spawn screen layout. All I was ever able to change was spawn button size and location.
