Re: Orion: City
Looks great. I like the blue snail tanks. Now you need an airport and your city is finished. Ok..an airport wouldn't fit in...But your map looks so amazing that people dont need flyers. They should enjoy the city on the streets
Edit: Other idea. Maybe you could add an animated space frigate over the city.

Flyer will destroy this map. But the animated frigates are a very nice idea.
I think this one with a new texture will look great on this map

Maybe you can take a texture looking like this:

Re: Orion: City
Hm...if he adds mountains around the city...more buildings...and flyers would be a great touch. The Corvette frigate would look great. So around and high above the city. Not exactly high over the streets...above the outland. Or maybe hide a flyer. The AI cant reach it..but the player can it. Maybe inside a wall and nobody knows it. Ok..this would destroy the map..you are right.

Re: Orion: City
I added a secreat flyer to hoth in the RCM mod. Guess were it is
on Topic: If you want to add flyer the fly high shouldn't be very high, to force the player flying around the buildings. the flyer shouldn't be too fast but also not to slow. And the AI need to be a bit more intelligent, other wise they will crahs about 5 sec after taking of in the next building

I already implemented that frigate overhead and I am in the process of trying to make it circle the map overhead. It's partially visible in the last screenshot I posted.Anakin wrote:Flyer will destroy this map. But the animated frigates are a very nice idea.

@Anakin and thelegend
I'm not going to be adding the ability for the player to be able to fly around in a flyer for two reasons. One: It'd be a little to easy to just fly around and bomb the infantry below and two: I don't have any places on the map at the moment that would make sense to add a flyer in.
And I wouldn't be able to build an airport (may save that idea for a later map) because I believe I am very close to the object limit.

Those look great! I love seeing HD Episode II clone troopers. Maybe you should fix the dots on the armor though, as those should not be the same on all the colors. Keep up the good work!

Awesome looking units and very well-put together map as well! When this is released, I am definitely downloading this but I am not too sure when you will be releasing it or if you plan on getting this beta tested. Like I said before, looks great and can not wait for it to be released!

Re: Orion: City
Did you create this units?
Looks great. But the heads look a little, little, little bit too large. But the skins look epic. Nice job

The reference pictures I used showed the dots on the armor being the same amount on all the armor.Kingpin wrote:Those look great! I love seeing HD Episode II clone troopers. Maybe you should fix the dots on the armor though, as those should not be the same on all the colors. Keep up the good work!
Thanks and no I didn't make the units just retextured them. icemember made the clone trooper units.thelegend wrote:Did you create this units?

Re: Orion: City
Wow Spartan, you are really doing a great job with the units. It is people like you who I like downloading from since you fulfill my two expectations for mod map downloads.
1) The map must be well done because if the map is not well done I will not download.
2) The map must have at least one new unit. Let's face it, it is just not very fun when you have the same stock sides on a completely new map. If it was somebodies first and second map I do not really mind as much.
Anyways, hope to be able to download this in the near future!

Re: Orion: City
I’ve finally had some motivation to work on this map again so I’ve got a bit of an update.
For the units... I've added a droid commander and tank pilot droid to the Orion side and a clone tank pilot to the Republic. The ARC got new models for the Westar and DC-17 pistol and I removed the rocket launcher and replaced it with a Westar-M5 Grenade launcher attachment.
New Units
I also was playing around in the tank ODFs and I added fpm to the Republic tank.
So I'd like to know what you guys think about the first-person for the tank. Is it a good idea or should I keep it in third-person?

Re: Orion: City
^ THIS ^
I used to hate playing in First-Person mode until quite recently, now I love it, and I love having FP mode in vehicles because that really adds to the overall "weight" of the mod, if that makes sense. Going forward I will definitely be putting a ton of work into my first person arms/weapons/animations/cockpits for this reason.
Also I may have drooled a bit when I saw the clone tank pilot.
