Psh, that's boring.Eaol wrote:Personally if I were to look at anything in here seriously, it would be limited to the Star-Wars-related material that can be done.
Oh yeah, this would be totally doable.Tears2Roses wrote:I was thinking, what about a transformers type mod? Pandemic made "transformers" with the droideka. Something that changes its shape to roll ( or for transformers, turns into a car ) and then back into something that walks and shoots ( in our case the robot transformer. ) If this is even remotely possible in SWBF2, I don't know... Pandemic did it with a droideka so it must be. However, a few other aspects aren't impossible. Like making explodeable prop vehicles. In the first transformers ( the only one I have seen ), near the end, there are tons of scattered cars and what not. It would be as simple as making a car .msh, givining it a destroyed .msh, and a massive explosion, and LOW HP ( one rocket shot blows it up. ) If you don't know what I mean by destroyed .msh, look at the tantive IV consoles from the stock campaign. And also the hoth campaign, when you blow up the shield generator. One other not so far fetched idea is destructable skyscrapers. You shoot at one part, that part is gone. Pandemic did it with space maps, capital ships. It wouldn't be impossible. I think you would give the sky scraper different model chunks, each with there own explosion. What might not be possible would be having the sky sky scraper fall over sideways and kill something if you shot the bottom out. What wouldn't be impossible is blowing the sky scrape up, even in one big boom. As far as weapons go, what robot wouldn't have a super cool rocket launcher, or continous laser beam?

I thought it was unlimited ambush teams...THEWULFMAN wrote:2 normal teams + 7 Local/ambush teams = 9 max.
I myself was thinking of doing one of these cities. However, if you want to see the flaws with this, look at the Elite Squadron map of this. To get it to look anything like the film, it would require an insane amount of work. That's why no one has done it. If you don't do the insane amount of work, it just looks sad and dissapointing. Also, if it is sideways, wouldn't all the troops fall down if they were ever outside? I might do this planet, just later on in my modding career.yuke5 wrote:This is my most complex map idea yet. I'm not sure it's even possible.

It'd be one of ^these^, but with a twist. The city would have been split in half by something. So the map would be a city, but it would be horizontal instead of vertical. There'd be a bunch of buildings, but they would be on their side. You could enter buildings, but the player would walk on the walls and the ceiling and floor would be walls. I figured the map itself would naturally lend itself to cool stuff if pulled off well. However, it would be very difficult to emulate.
Yeah, they did make a map of Cato Nemodia, there's a video playthrough HERE. It just doesn't look right, or anything like the film. Now, saying that, I hear it is one of the better maps for that game.yuke5 wrote:I never knew Elite Squadron made a map like this. Huh.
Capitol Strike 1yuke5 wrote:I have a new idea. I'm planning on making a map like this, but it's a broad idea so I don't care if someone else does too. The concept would be space battles in atmosphere. So I guess they would really be air battles. Mountains would be created, or a treeline. The map would play out a lot like a regular starship battle, but the environment would be very different. I suppose this is a little similar to capital down maps, or space to land maps, but I think this would avoid pitfalls the spring up often. The goals would be the same, and combat would be the same. Everything should work out.
