GT Exclusive SMP Server (Temporary)

ok iv'e been having severe problems with minecraft lately. whenever i go on the server it usually only takes my computer a couple of seconds to kick me out of minecraft . i tried setting java to high priority... didn't work. please help

I've been getting massive framerate drops only on the server. :/

On another note, anyone have any ideas for what I can make the building across the street from the town hall into? I was gonna do a jail, but that was just bad placement.

Also, not sure where I'm supposed to report this, but I had my chests and furnaces raided. Are there Anti-Griefing plugins anymore? If so, it happened sometime after evening hours last night and tonight.

The chest had several stacks of clay, and diamonds, and the furnaces had 4 stacks of clay bricks in them.

Learn from my mistakes, hide your chests!

a) The server is totally vanilla. Sorry, but since it's not bukkit, I can't add plugins. So you're on your own when it comes to greifers (which, honestly, there shouldn't be any. We're all Gametoast members, have a bit of decency)
b) I'm not giving you diamonds. I'm sorry, but I just can't believe you got diamonds on your first day. Unless it was from a dungeon. In which case, it was sheer luck, anyway, you'll find more later.

I'm totally fine with losing my items! Please don't get me wrong, I wasn't asking for anything. Honestly it was my own fault. I was just saying to everyone else that there is a griefer, and they should watch out.

(And yes, I DID find diamonds my first day. )

Well, I'm one of the many people getting [screwed] by these lag spikes. So I'm basically unable to do anything on the server until a fix comes out, official or unofficial.

Dang nab it... I died from the lag, and lost every item I had. Twi, can I suggest making the server cap smaller? I think it'll help the lag.

And then almost no one would be on. I think that the new 1.8 server is unstable in general.

We seem to be fine around 7 people, I don't see how that would make it so that no one would be on.

But you are right, 1.8.1 is very unstable.

It's nothing wrong with the server, the current version of Minecraft is just too unstable. From what I hear, once OptiFine gets updated for it, it should be fine, but I donno.

Hey TW, and just wanted to let you know about a cool mod that you might want to put on the server once an SMP version comes out. Basically:

Ever thought Minecrafts tree and forest system was rather unrealistic? Boring? Uneventful? Then this mod is for you.

In a Nature Overhauled world, forests will grow, flourish, then die, they will expand, then contract. They will try to spread over deserts and fail! Saplings will grow from trees, fly on the wind, then spawn a new tree where they fall. Though, they can die in this process if the world is unfavourable! A desert will kill a new born sapling.

The plants, mushrooms, cactii, reeds and pumpkins of your world will also reproduce and spread their kin far and wide. They too will form intricate ecosystems. Based on biome their growth, death and spread rates change!

So What Do you think. Its not out for SMP yet, but Just wanted to let you know about it.

I would have to agree with everyone who says tht 1.8 is unstable... unless its just the connection... at this point in time its fine for one person but once someone joins the connectin goes to hell

What version of Java are you guys all using?
Specifically those of you that are crashing frequently, but even if you aren't it would help the investigation....

Hm, this could be my problem.

EDIT: I just did a software update (I'm on Mac) and no new Java was included. 1.6.0_26 is as new as it gets for me. :/

I am using 1.6.0_27 but I was'nt crashing.... Again I found last night that if more then one person joins it become so laggy u cant play...

Twi wat java are you using?
If you are using 1.7 then mayb it crashes because most of us are using 1.6 release 27. 1.7 is technically not an official release so Java doesnt update to it

1.6.0_26 for me... it refuses to update to anything more recent. I'm gonna try to uninstall and reinstall, so stand by for that...

Weird. Am I the only one with no stability issues thus far? I guess it could be one of those selective issues, but I'm not sure. I'm able to play on servers just fine.

I do like the server list now for the in-game client, however. Beats copying over all the other IP's in the box (not that I had a problem with it, but I just like convenience).

P.S. - Is the server up? Because on the front page, I am not sure. Is there a more recent IP or something I missed?
