It was not intended as a derogatory term.

It's quite easy to judge by how one acts, how long they have been here, and the questions they ask to find out their skill level. Although there is a margin of error, so for your skill level I don't know if you are good at mapping or bad, since as you said I haven't played your maps so I can't figure that out.

Has anyone made a Wake Island map? I was thinking of trying to make one.

That's a cool idea, but what would you use as transports for the attacking team? Speeders don't have that many seats and the passengers are not so willing to bail out. They can't walk because it's too far (and there is that small problem involving tons of water in the way) and aerial transports do not land by their own free will in Battlefront.

Edit: unless you plan to do just the island and forget about the carriers, in that case, nevermind my post.

I was thinking about it both ways. On one hand I could use Space Frigates (Rebel Transport, Imperial Frigate, etc) as the carriers (I think that Capital Ships may be too big) and use IF-TXs and Alliance Arc 1s as the transports but have like 10 per team, so that is 20 people that can be launched right away, as well as having 4 X-Wings and 4 TIE Fighters to use as planes, so that is 28 people per team that can launch. I will probably play with the numbers a lot.
I would also place vehicle barriers along the beaches so the carrier based tanks can't some on land, and the land spawned tanks can't go in the water. Conversely if I were to make it island only there would be no need for a vehicle barrier.
Most of the water in the center of the island would be deep enough so you can jump and not die (like Naboo: Theed deep). Also I would probably make the bridges destructible.

I'm thinking about making a map set on the ISS Empirical. I was wondering if anyone would like to help.
I would basically need someone who can make models, but anyone else is welcome.

I'm making a map, called Earth; Sunny Beach. This will feature:
A theme park
A estate
A beach
Perhaps a Please remove this may be spam

Ideas for the rides in the theme park:

I'll put Go-karts
Perhaps a coaster
A monorail, definetly
Jet Skis
Shooting Range

I have a few mappers/moddlers involved atm. I'm just looking for people who want to help. :)

Well, since it's probably going to take a while before you have the map done, I guess you could sent it over to me if you want me to do all the planning/barriers/hintnodes stuffz.

:o That sounds awesome. How are you going to make a coaster?

Oh, and about the water texture, it's quite simple. Just edit the stock water texture.

To make a coaster I could get some assets and retexture them and maybe scale them down more. Really simple, then add a model of a train or a coaster which I'll make on top of the track then use ZE animation. It won't be really smooth such as loops and such which I cannot do as you'd fall out, but I can do basic things with it.

Make it a turret and give it a bunch of passenger slots for the seats. Then animate that in ZE. Simply making a moving object that you expect units to stand on won't work out so well.

Par and I have decided to do two separate maps, just like this one, but with different stuff. So if you feel like helping ether one of us, it would be appreciated.

Here is what is in mine:

Hero Assault,
Bunch of games, like grenade throwing, battling, and stuff like that. Maybe I'll get a list.
A bar.
A Please remove this may be spam.
An awesome race track, were you race ships, speeders etc.
And cool rides, like merry-go-rounds, maybe a coster, if Par or I can pull it off, etc.
It will mainly be a multi-player only mode, but it will support single.

1 flag CTF
This mode is a HUGE maze.
You will be trying to capture as many flags as you can, but you have to find your way through the maze first. And the hard part is there will be multiple levels, and the walls will move and change position. This will be both single and multi player.

Conquest
This mode will be a wave mode. Much like Rep's BA 2.0 wave mode. This will be both a single player and multiplayer mode.

So again, if you like what you see and want to help, PM Par or me.

It would be cool if someone were to replace the stock BF2 Stormtrooper with the stormtrooper from JK2/JK3. The Battlefront model is a little off, IMO.

YouJediJunky has been working on a new stormtrooper model. He hasn't posted his progress in a while, so I don't know how far he is with it.

I'm making a Yag'Dhul Station map out of Death Star, Polis Massa, and Star Destroyer parts. I'm not going to be heavily canon, so anyone have suggestions on what I should add in? :)
