You know who's music just a outright? T payne. His music sounds like he's got gas and he's gasping for air trying to hold it in.

Re: Music Reviews
I like hip-hop, but I hate the mainstream styles. T-pain and Lil' Wayne and all of them are terrible. Their lyrics have no meaning. If anyone is interested, here are some albums that I would give good reviews to and highly, highly recommend:
Blazing Arrow - Blackalicious
Time Being, Evolution Fight - Cyne
Masters Of The Universe - Binary Star
Blackstar - Blackstar (Talib Kweli and Mos Def)
Game Theory, Rising Down - The Roots
Blue Scholars, Bayani - Blue Scholars

Hypothesis: Believe the Hyp Vol. 1

Today, I decided to review a band called Hypothesis, best known for providing intro/ background beats for the Machinima "PHIL".
I tend not to listen to rap and hip-hop, and at first, that's what I thought it was. However, after a few time of listening to the songs, I realized it wasn't hip-hop or rap, but rather, lounge music with rap lyrics over it. The music itself is probably the most beautiful thing of these compositions, with the actual lyrics coming in second, and vocal talent falling in last.
The music varies in many different ways. Like I stated above, it was mostly lounge music, however, some of the beats were "hip-hop-ish". One of the songs was played live (not recorded and looped) on a solo acoustic guitar. Most of the other songs were looped. Some were looped rather well, others were plagued with skippy and noticeable jumps. Overall however, the songs were fun to listen to.
The lyrics, were very well written. They weren't outright about drugs, gang violence and ammunition, but rather turned to a softer side of this, like the problems that can arise from this, and love plagued by violence. Some were simply about their musical experiences.
It was the singing that brought these songs down the most. Not because the vocalist wasn't talented, but rather due to the quality of the recordings. Sadly, this seemed to bring down the rest of the beautiful composition.
There are some hints of language, but not too much.
Notable Tracks:
- Alleyway Anthem
- Ice Cream
- Food
- Don't Forget Me
- Soul

Re: Music Reviews
Well, consider it this way, Which album was better, St. Anger or Death Magnetic? I say that they made a good start at coming back to a new generation with some more classical thrash metal music.Grev wrote:Chalk another one up for Grev!Teancum wrote:Lenny is the man. Well, heres the Metallica: Death Magnetic Review. Cindi Lauper's new cd review soon!
Metallica: Death Magnetic
Well, while I expected loads from this, it really wasn't that great. Metallica has taken a new path in its song style, in the way that they make it insanely long. I think their shortest song was around 5 minutes, and on average the songs were 7 minutes long. While some songs were really good, others seemed to be repeats of the other songs, from other cd's and this cd. Their good songs however, leveled it out, as the songs that you could sit through were an incredible listening experience. And in fact, some songs that I liked were really simple, like Unforgiven III and The Day That Never Comes. Simple, not grinding the guitar, with several chords, but overall incredible sound.
