Battleforge went F2P a few weeks ago. It's ok, but people who pay for better cards definitely get a huge advantage over those who don't.

Its a mix of the original mario playstyle and Super Mario sunshine.
I've palyed it for a good 2 hours, and I have to say, its pretty decent, and addicting, and classic mario fans as well as the newer mario gamers will love it. Some o fthe levels could use a little work, but overall it provides a fun challenge.

I found a really awesome free game yesterday.
Battleships forever
Battleships Forever is a freeware tactical Real Time Strategy game that put's you in command of a small fleet of warships in space. Combat and damage mechanics are extremely detailed. Everything is simulated in game if possible. There are no abitrary "to hit chance" values in Battleships Forever. The game also features many innovative mechanics that you've never seen before. For example, the Cronus Battleship sports a Flux Shield generator that allows you to draw a defensive force shield around your ships in any shape you want. Another example are the Deflector modules that are used extensively through the game. These modules make a single section of a ship totally invulnerable to fire. This means that you will have to manoeuvre your ships to attack sections of the enemy ships not protected by Deflectors while keeping your own protected sections facing the enemy. Position is paramount!
Players will command picked fleets made up of Battleships, Destroyers and Patrol Craft. The completed game will include ten campaign missions and multiple skirmish modes.
It also comes with the ability to create your own custom ships and missions.
Alittle more detail

And here is a youtube vid that shows off some of the ships and weapons.

Endless War 4, probably the greatest 2D top down tactical shooter of all time. Plus, Endless War 3 , and with that, Endless War 1-2. Try the all weapons cheat after you beat them normally.

Yeah, no kidding. It's sorta glitchy at times, but it's a port to Windows, not an official release. They seem to favour developing games for Mac.
EDIT
Sorry for the bump, but nobody'd see it if I didn't;

Another sick game - you control muscles to fight.

I've tried it once. I won all the games I played with it, though I haven't had any idea how I did that. I quitted it, because it's no fun if you haven't got the faintest clue about why you're PWNing someone

Cave Story
A really great 2D shooter, and it's done in 8-bit style. The game play is a mix between Metroid and Castlevania. Here's the link, but you also have to download the patch to translate it:
Cave Story
Click the image beside the 2004 year date.
Cave Story Patch
Click V1.03 Patch to download the patch, then follow the instructions.
It has a great plot and very large number of challenging bosses. I still haven't beated it yet.

I don't see any mention of this, but the current GunZ link is dead. The North American client is based
here now. According to wiki the other site is closed.

The bottommost Windows link here is the game already translated into English, a guide, a few icons, and contains the entire soundtrack.
But yeah, I loved this game and even posted about it earlier. Glad someone else played it too.

Combat Arms (<-- Clicky)
A modern warfare MMOFPS. I'd give it a 4/5.

(Requires the Games for Windows Live client)
It used to be an Ultimate Extra for Vista but has since been released for free. It's a very clever little puzzle game.
